Yeah, I'm Still Goth
Saturday, August 15, 2009
Oddly enough, banks don't want you coming to work looking goth. I am lucky that I work at the contact center, so you can have tattoos and piercings and stuff. I guess technically I could, but I normally just blend into the background. Really, I generally don't care what I look like. Maybe that's the problem. I'm a working stiff who just wants to get through the day.
I still love all the old goth trappings, but I wouldn't really want to do it everyday. Too much bloody work. And I like different things, not just the black, fishnetty, black eye-liner and hairspray. I love lots of different styles and love 'Lucky' magazine. Is it my youth I miss?
Well, I do still feel goth at heart. I'm goth on the inside. Goth is really a state of mind, not a uniform. So there!

I like the way you put that....a state of mind not a uniform. So true about so many things.

Okay, I still put in black liquid eyeliner and mascara just to go to the post office. . . maybe I'm rocking more goth than I thought. :)

Those people at the bank are nothing but conformist assholes. I know that sounds immature, but that's how I feel sometimes. I'm African American, and I like goth. My aunt doesn't want me to go to goth because she thinks it's evil. She's nothing but a conformist, she wouldn't even let me wear black nail polish. Hell, I'm 21, I can wear any color nail polish as I want. Thanks for making this blog, goth is a state of mind, and I do feel goth sometimes, even though I don't wear black lipstick, piercings, tattoos, and wild hair.
