The Lynley Mysteries!
Thursday, April 9, 2009
So you may have guessed that we are nerds, Denise and I. Well, we wear this label proudly, even stupidly at times.
One of the nerdier things we do/are obsessed with are British murder mysteries. Ok, really obsessed. Inspector Morse, Touch of Frost, Lovejoy (light on the murders, but always mysterious) Foyle's War and the Lynley Mysteries.
When we discovered a local video store carried all of these in DVD sets, we squealed, like little girls in a candy store. Yes, again, the staff were afraid.
We now happily rent these gifts from the heavens. We use these as rewards for working hard, and fodder for the occasional hunker (there will be further reference to 'hunker' as a verb in future blogs, especially once we quit our day jobs-wink-wink). To hunker is to have sufficient snacks and food stuffs, DVD rentage, and propper cat-person cuddle ratio in order.
Currently in the midst of a Lynley Mysteries DVD set. I love the interaction of Havers and Lynley. And she is super awesome, not some lame ass chick, she is fearless and loud mouthed-sort of reminds me of someone I know. Anyway, there is nothing more relaxing than a murder and british inspector and some snacks. Well, that's all I can say for now. There is a Lynley in the player right now...

You have great taste in mysteries. I love watching the British channels...I wish they would bring back the Sherlock Holmes series they had...One of my favorite Brit shows was Rumpole of The Bailey...I always wanted one of those Tee's that said "She Who Must Be Obey'd"...:)

I love these things too! But I can't get my boyfriend into them and we usually watch TV together...oh well, next time he goes on vacation or something.

Hi Girls - Just stopping by from esty to check out your stuff. Really gorgeous work. My favorite thing about your blog though is that you are best friends doing all this together - that is the sweetest thing. You're so lucky to have this type of relationship.

I was never big on the Brit mysteries, though I remember my parents always watching them.
I do like Nathaniel Parker though... mmmm.

Duuuuuuuude. British murder mysteries are the best! I've been watching them non-stop since I moved here from Canada. Have you checked out Cracker, Midsomer Murders, Silent Witness and Waking The Dead? All excellent. Waking The Dead is particularly gritty, if that's how you like your murders!
